KinetiQ
Privacy Policy
KinetiQ ("KinetiQ," "we," "our," or "us") provides AI-assisted sports motion analysis. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have when you use the KinetiQ mobile application and related services.
1. Information We Collect
Depending on how you use KinetiQ, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Account information, such as your email address, password (stored as a salted hash by our authentication provider), display name, username, and profile image.
- Videos and related media that you upload or record for motion analysis.
- Audio contained in uploaded or recorded videos, including when audio is present in a selected clip.
- Body movement and pose data derived from your videos, such as detected landmarks (including limited facial landmarks like eyes, nose, and ears used solely for head orientation), motion segments, and analysis outputs.
- Saved analysis records, including sport type, action type, timestamps, generated feedback, thumbnails, and processed overlay videos.
- Push notification tokens used to deliver analysis updates and other service notifications.
- Subscription and purchase status received from the App Store via our subscription provider, and usage information such as the number of analyses you have run during the current billing period, used to determine your access to free-tier and paid features.
- Information you choose to send through support or feedback forms.
2. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Create and manage your account and profile.
- Process your videos and generate motion analysis results.
- Render processed outputs such as skeleton overlays, thumbnails, and saved analyses.
- Send important service notifications, including analysis completion updates.
- Provide support, respond to feedback, and improve app reliability.
- Maintain the security, integrity, and performance of our services.
3. How Your Videos and Motion Data Are Processed
When you submit a video for analysis, we may process the video and its associated motion data on our servers and through service providers that help us generate AI analysis results. We may also create derived outputs such as pose landmarks, structured feedback, thumbnails, and overlay videos.
Face Data: KinetiQ does not use face data for biometric identification or facial recognition. We collect and process a limited set of facial landmarks (such as the position of eyes, nose, and ears) as part of a whole-body pose model. This data is used solely to determine head orientation and posture during sports movements to provide accurate biomechanical feedback.
We do not use your videos, audio, motion data, or analysis results to train artificial intelligence or machine learning models. We send analysis prompts to our third-party AI provider through their commercial API, and we rely on that provider's published API terms regarding how submitted content may be used.
4. Sharing and Service Providers
We share information with service providers that help us operate KinetiQ. These providers process information on our behalf and only for the purposes of providing the service. Our current providers include:
- Supabase — user authentication, account profile, and analysis records database.
- Cloudflare R2 — storage of uploaded videos, generated overlay videos, and thumbnails.
- Google (Gemini API) — AI provider used to generate motion analysis feedback. Analysis prompts derived from your submission may be sent to this provider for processing.
- Expo and Apple Push Notification service — delivery of push notifications.
- RevenueCat and the Apple App Store — processing and validation of subscription purchases.
- Grafana Cloud / OpenTelemetry — infrastructure logging and performance monitoring (no advertising or user-tracking purpose).
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of users, or in connection with a corporate transaction such as a merger or acquisition.
5. Tracking and Advertising
We do not use your personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking as part of the current KinetiQ app experience.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain saved analyses, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
You can delete your account at any time from within the app under Profile → Delete Account, or by contacting us. When you delete your account, we will delete your account profile, uploaded videos, generated overlays and thumbnails, and saved analysis records within 30 days, except where we are required or permitted to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes. Backup copies may persist for a limited additional period before they are overwritten.
7. Your Choices
You may be able to:
- Update profile information within the app.
- Control device permissions such as camera, photos, microphone, and notifications in your device settings.
- Delete individual saved analyses from within the app.
- Delete your account and associated data from within the app under Profile → Delete Account, or request access to or deletion of your data by contacting us.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children and Family Use
KinetiQ is a general-audience sports app and may be used by athletes of different ages, including younger users training with the help of a parent, guardian, or coach. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country (for example, 13 in the United States or 16 in parts of the European Economic Area), please use KinetiQ with the involvement of a parent or guardian, and have them review this Privacy Policy on your behalf.
